Updates on “LUMIX Click to Fame”
The jury comprises of renowned photographers of the country, Munira Morshed Munni, Dr. Md. Rashid-un-Nabi Shuvro (EFIAP), Hasan Saifuddin Chandan (EFIAP) and Khademul Insan. Eminent photographer of the country, Anwar Hossain is the online judge of the event.
The top ten finalists had embarked on photography assignments to different parts of the country trying to discover the beauty of Bangladesh though the eye of the camera, says a press release. The first trip was to Cox's Bazar, where the talented photographers clicked away at the golden sands, blue waters of Inani, the water festivals of the Rakhains and all the marine magnificence their eyes laid on.
Their next destination was the largest mangrove forest in the world, Sunderbans. Despite the bounty of nature, the roars of the Royal Bengal Tigers and endless variations of wildlife, Sunderbans is yet to be recognised as one of the tourist hot spots.
The ten finalists of “LUMIX Click to Fame” used their imagination and shooting skills with LUMIX FZ 35 cameras with 18x zoom to capture the enigmatic wilderness.
With every journey, the numbers of contestants are dropping down by two per week. But this harsh reality did not really deter the energy of the remaining contestants, as they went to Sylhet -- an area that invigorates the soul with the lush tea gardens, the waterfall at Madhobkundo, the rocky terrains of Jaflong and the Eco Park at Lawachora. Two pictures -- both of Jafflong by Tamim and Afzal -- will likely lure the global trekkers to Bangladesh.
With three weeks of moving around in Bangladesh, the last photo assignment for the six surviving contestants were to frame Smriti Shoudho at Savar and Shaheed Minar as well as the architecture of Panamnagar in Sonargaon. Faisal Nazim, one of the contestants form Chittagong commented, “It was indeed a challenge for all of us to shoot pictures of Shaheed Minar or Smriti Shoudho from a different perspective, as these monuments have been shot a thousand times.”
The road to glory is drawing nearer. The winner will receive a Lumix GH1, cash reward of Tk 1,50,000, be the brand ambassador of Panasonic Lumix, get a photo exhibition sponsorship up to Tk 1,50,000 and internship in two of the leading magazines. Related Articles :
